I think the best current livery on an aircraft is on any South African Airways plane. It's the tail! The tail design evokes to me an African ethnic sensibility, but the design is modern and dynamic. It gives me the impression of a bird soaring over an African landscape, but it also gives me an impression of action and progress. It's not too busy or overdone, yet it's interesting and attractive. Great color selection, too. It's an example of how the so called "Euro-White", billboard design can look good, the tail can make it.

Another one along those lines I like a lot is Hawaiian's new design. The old flower girl was great, but the new one is really an improvement. The colors are great and really gets me thinking "HAWAII"!

cheers, Ralph

Now with the official death of Alianza Summa after the going under of VX on august of last year, We wish to see AV in red/white once more.

But the general concensus with the pilots at AV is:
We hope to be part of CO/CM group, have a complete management change, restructured and out of chapter 11 proceedings for our 85 year celebration on December 5 of 2004.

We want to see our retro white/blue look once more on the fleet showing the Condor of the Andes, messenger of the divine gods according to the Incas painted back on all the fleet, making us the oldest continuous operating airline in the Americas since 1919.

I believe the nicest looking B757-28A was N321LF which is no longer with us in our fleet.

The Aviodrome Lockheed Constellation is looking awesome, can't show you yet though.
Your patience will be tested for another 1 or 2 weeks.
It's painted in the old KLM livery of the 50-ties.

To me the best liveries on an aircraft are as follows:

TWA (last color scheme)
NWA (both the latest and the one before)
UA (not the new one)
US Airways
CO
SWA (latest color)
Aeroflot (latest color)
BA
GULF AIR
LAN CHILE
and yes jetBlue with it's different tail schemes. Vietnam Airlines is also quite interesting as well.
