Just read in the paper, that the "new" 743 for SLM will be delayed for another week. So May 9th for the inaugural flight. Due to some technical difficulties, the plane can not be ready in time for its new service. The article in the news paper said that when they were stripping the plane they found some unforeseen things that were not in order and the delivery of parts will be a while.
Well this means that this is in my favor. I will be going home on the may 3rd and I can hopefully be at the ceremony to take some pictures!!! Instead of the ceremony/inaugural flight being on the 2nd.
I sure hope all goes well without further delay.
Will anyone be in Suriname during this time?

I am happy to see that things are going SLMs way. It is an airline with a special place in my heart as my father was in charge of introducing the DC9-51 (PZ-TCK/District of Wanica) into the fleet back in 1999.
