Flytecomm said today Delta 9782 arrived at KALB. This aircraft is a B764. I see no need for this aircraft to be in ALB so is it a mistake?

Yes, it landed at the wrong airport. Ops are frantically trying to remedy the situation. Stay tuned...

I thought it was a charter flight from STL, since DL flew a 764 from ALB to STL. as a charter flight.

Landed at the wrong airport? How the ---- do you do that?

"uhhh we are shooting for anything between NY and CA"

I find this hard to believe, unless they were told to go to ALB but were really supposed to go else where. If an a.neter can figure this out then what were the pilots thinking?

Im a little lost-

Some may be too young to remember back in 1986 when Delta landed at the wrong airports an alarmingly substantial number of times.

Imagine the crew's surpirse on NW52 DC10 landing in Brussels and didn't know it until just under the cloud deck. Controllers in Shannon messed up the en-route and they flew where they were told. The pax knew before the crew-- saw it on the monitors. Woops. That would be at an airport where it shouldn't be.

If you look up flifo on delta.com, you will see that DL 9782 routed ATL/ALB/STL/OGG today. Big A/C in KALB quite rare!

Anyone remember about 10 years back, the now defunct Carnival Airlines had a plane that landed at the wrong airport in Florida???

What a great start to all those people starting their cruise vacations!  Laugh out loud

And, MacDill AFB in Tampa used to get the occasional, "OOOOPS!, I thought that was KTPA!" flights, in the old days, too.

"This is you capitan speaking, we're landing at Tampa Interna...D'OHHHHH!!!!"
