United has left off routes from its online route map for some time (the printed magazine still displays international routes, but not all transborder service), so here's a small preview image of its full, global network:

includes Summer 2004 flights planned for United, United Express, and Ted

The full image (1600 width so you'll have to scroll) is available here:

Also, the first images of the new paint scheme on ground equipment are up

Does UA have more than one transatlantic flight out of New York? I know they have 2x daily to LHR from JFK.

It's fixed... refresh it. (Also, summer 2004 should read Fall 2004).

If there are any other mistakes let me know.

Certainly looks better on the trucks than it does on the planes.

Are these all connections to/from DEN? I think there were more, like DEN-ORD, DEN-SFO...

Or did they cut back?

Nudelhirsch: The map only displays international flights, not domestic. If domestic flights were included you'd have stars coming out of IAD, ORD, SFO, DEN, and LAX.

Seoul (ICN) should have a Red Star as it's the home base for Asiana (OZ).

Why do Zurich (ZRH) and Bermuda (BDA) have Red Stars?

Is United cutting the Tokyo NRT to Hong Kong segment? I have not heard anything about this.

The map shows DEN/CUN. I know United has applied for that route, but I haven't heard that it has been granted.

Two other airlines, Allegiant and Champion, have applied for the same route, and only one of them can get it.

cheers

The map includes *planned* service for the early fall, as stated.

DEN-SJD is also in there (a planned Ted route... application should be into DOT by now).

I'd heard that SJD was going to be the first Mexican resort (for Ted). So I was surprised when CUN was first.

There may be an application (for SJD), but I haven't seen one.

It's possible they're waiting to see how DEN/CUN and DEN/PVR resolve, because there's a bit of a barney about those.

cheers

Ahhh mariner thank you, PVR is the one with the current application. (I was mistaken).

ORD-CZM is also on there.

Yeah SJD was supposed to be the first...

I'll change SJD to PVR on the map.

I don't understand why ZRH. PVR and SJD have a star... none is a Star Alliance hub. In addition, I think there are some routes missing like LAX-MEX and MEX-SJO (I would find it odd if UA had dropped them). Anyway, the map is great!!!

Coming soon: MEX-MFE (VW CR2), IAH-PHL-CDG (US E90 and A333), ORY-EWR (OpenSkies 752), EWR-MEX (UA 73W)!!!

All the bright red stars indicate new markets. I guess the red wasn't bright enough; I'll change them to blue.

LAX-MEX is on there. MEX-SJO was dropped when UA started IAD-SJO.

UA744Flagship:

I'm a bit confused about HNL. I see routes from HNL to Asia, and I see overflights from LAX/SFO to SYD.

But I don't see LAX/HNL or SFO/HNL.

Am I just being dense?

cheers

This map appears to be showing only international flights, so LAX/SFO-HNL would not be included in the illustration.  Smile

If you take out Canada, Chicago and Denver, it looks alot like an old Pan Am route map pre-deregulation. Which isn't surprising since I'ld venture 3/4 of all their international authority was purchased from Pan Am.

EddieDude,
I believe that Zurich was the location of the first joint Star Alliance Lounge for the Star Alliance members. Other than that, I would not know.
