SV is to start 3x weekly services between the capital, Riyadh and Alexandria, Egypt's second city. SV334 will use the MD-90 on most services, with the 777 being used on certain flights during August (the latter will be the first 777 to HBE). Currently the service is planned for the summer only but SV plans to make it a year-round service if successful.

The airline will also double their existing JED-HBE-JED flights from 2x weekly to 4x weekly (SV332). MS will have 6x weekly A320 flights (MS655) on the latter route during the summer.

Alexandria is a popular city with Gulf Arabs during the summer
