They are planning on getting 30 to 35 Airbus planes (a mixture of A321s and A319s... but no A320s ) to eventually replace their MD-80s.
Spirit is also planning on expanding their operations at ACY. In anticipation of that, SJTA (South Jersey Transportation Authority), the agency that runs ACY, has a terminal expansion plan (up to 18 gates) in their latest Airport Layout Plan.
Maybe by 2010, the terminal along with Spirit's new fleet will become a reality.
