A co-worker has just gotten a job as Operations Specialist at the new Killeen/Ft. Hood regional airport in Texas, operated jointly between the army and the city of Killeen. As a joint-use facility, the Army does ATC and ARFF. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about this new airport (opening this August) and how the responsibilities are divided between the Army and the city.

The Ft. Hood facility has a much longer runway (10,000') than the old municipal facility, but I understand that airline service will be with RJ's for now. Apparently the terminal building is brand new.

Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

I'm sorry, ma'am, I don't work for the airline.
