Well it has been an eventful week over here in LGB. Five days ago we had several swarms of bees invade the airport resulting in a 30 minute delay and several bee stings. (myself included) Now we have this go down right before our eyes. I can't say I'm surprised. This is a bad problem in the industry (for all airlines, remember NW?), however a major problem with contract ramp.

Unfortunately, this is what happens when you don't pay people well, like contract ramp agents. They need to pay the bills one way or another and there you saw it.

I don't think this has anything to do with what you pay people, I doubt it would have made any difference if this person was being paid $8.00 an hour or $25.00 an hour, a thief is a thief. My problem with this are his co-workers who had to have known something was wrong. People have got to know that if they keep silent they become accomplices to those crimes. I wouldn't be surprised if ATS loses the American contract at LGB over this.
