Some of that increase in O/d over the years can be attributed to LCC entrances into the PIT market over the years that have drove fares down occasionally.
On a similar note, STL is also seeing an increase in o/d traffic from this year to the last. Original predictions put the traffic total at 13.5 million for the year 2004 but have been upped to I believe right at 14 million.

Well, this is one of the "well-duh" articles.
So many factors can be attributed over the past decade to why it increased, like the new airport, US building up PIT ops, and overall growth in US air travel.
Also, AA added flights to MIA in the past year, thus the large increase in the past year for them.
Talk about creating news, for the sake of having something to print.
