For an upstart carrier, would the attractive leasing rates of the DC-10 versus a newer aircraft, such as the A330 be enough to persuade the carrier to operate those planes? Would the higher operating costs and maintainence costs of the DC-10 still be cheaper than the operating costs and leasing costs combined of the A330?

I think the A330-300 would be a more appropriate comparison specially when you figure in the leasing cost.
