The Columbus Dispatch reported on 5/1 that Laker Airways is offering charter flights to the Bahamas from Rickenbacker on Thursdays and Sundays. I looked for the article on the Dispatch's website, but couldn't find it. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place???
Anyway, apparently Laker operates two 727s for their charters. It'll be good to see 727s in the Columbus area again.
With Hooters Air and Southeast operating there already, this can only be good for LCK, b/c its a sign they are growing. But what does this mean for CMH (if anything)?

In order to access articles on the Dispatch's website, one has to either subscribe to their online addition for a fee, or just register with the Dispatch if you receive home delivery of the newspaper. It's pretty sleazy in my opinion, but not much I can do about it.
Also, it shouldn't really mean anything for CMH. I'm going to guess that the flights will be operated in conjunction with tour packages for the most part, so impact on the scheduled carriers should be non-existant, especially with Laker only flying the route twice a week.
