Hey all

I was browsing around SeatGuru.com and noticed that it had F9's Airbus seat width at 20.9". I know Airbus' are wider, but 20.9?????

PS- MSH744 pointed this out... scroll down a bit-- F9 likes us! http://www.frontierairlines.com/faq/index.asp

According to Airbus, the A-319 series is seven inches wider than the comparable Boeing aircraft (the B-737). The airline can either give each passenger an extra inch in the seat, or give everyone an extra seven inches in the aisle. F9 chose the latter. No one who sees me will accuse me of being skinny, but I don't have any problems with the width of the seats.

I'm a bit confused. 20 plus inches seems to be on the widest seats out there.

According to seatguru.com:

AWA (A319): 20 inches.

JetBlue (A320): 18 inches.

NWA (A319): 17.2 inches.

UAL (A319 - Y class): 18 inches.

JBLUA320 says the Frontier seat is 20.9 inches, but seatguru.com says 20.6 inches.

In either case, Frontier has generous width.

Generous width and generous pitch compared to coach class on DL,NW,CO,US,etc. The seats on F9's Airbus fleet are very comfortable, and the headrests are a nice touch. Seats don't have to be leather to be comfortable.

20.9" seems very side -- given that it's the width of Domestic F seats. Even without the larger center armrests, I just don't see 3x3 seating with seats that wide...wider fuselage or not. I've been in NW's Airbii, and there's just not that kind of room.

Standard seats are 17.5" wide. So 18.5" would make more sense.
