Mayor Bloomberg is the founder (and still connected with) the financial information service with his name - Bloomberg. He is worth at least $1 Billion, he is Jewish, mayor of one of the most important cities in the world, NYC, has traveled a number of times to Israel on business and pleasure since taking office. He would be a 'high value' target. He is considering the installation on 2 a/c, probably not only ones used by him, but by other major executitives in the Bloomberg company.

During the last mayoral campaign in New York, I remember they had an advertisement showing Bloomberg as the first NYC mayor taking a subway to get to City Hall from his residence. I wonder, do they have missile proof subways now also?
Well I would honestly consider mayor Bloomberg as an honest men because I'm almost sure he does not take subway to work. And why not install missile proof defense on his airplane, he's got enough money to waste, he's definitely not going to take it with him when he dies.
A mile of runway takes you to the world. A mile of highway takes you a mile.

He actually does take the subway to work. I have been on the Lexington Ave line and heard people comment that they had seen the mayor on the train in the morning and that he was shorter than he appeared on TV.

To answer RockyRacoon, apparently they are going to install such 'flares and chaff' system. Saw a news report connected with the stories on this and it also said there is considerably increased interest for installing these systems on private bizjets. Yes, Mayor Bloomberg does take the subway when possible between his (multimillion $) upper east side townhouse and City Hall. (he doesn't live in the city's Gracie Mansion for use by the mayors). And yes, he is worth closer to$5 Billion, not the $1b I used before.
