This could benefit HA in many ways. They already code-share with HP. Having Mesa (YV) as a partner (directly or indirectly) should provide a shot in the arm to HA. Their mainland routes have proved to be profitable, and this looks to be another stepping stone for HA, assuming this plan is accepted by the bankruptcy court. For YV it could be a profitable alliance as well, since both YV and HA serve LAX and PHX. From what the article states, it presents a win-win situation for both HA and YV.
Could you imagine an ERJ or CRJ in Hawaiian colors if they make an HA partner out of LAX and PHX? Hmm....

Mesa really needs to get their ducks in a row before they attempt any more expansion. They are having a hard enough time keeping their current operation running smoothly...and for them only a 10 minute delay is considered running smoothly.

The codeshare with HA is interesting but I am skeptical if a deal would be reached. Mesa currently has no operations whatsoever in Hawaii and would have a lot of set-up costs to incur if such a deal were agreed to.
