Low-cost-carrier Transavia/Basiq Air today announced that it is in talks with Sterling (Denmark), Hapag-Lloyd (Germany) and Volare (Italy) to create a LCC-alliance.

The airlines are currently looking into what kind of form the alliance needs to be. Joint operations at some destinations could be an option, as the airlines fly to many same destinations. One check-in counter, catering, etc at this destination would be things that could be consolidated.

In addition to the news yesterday, Transavia will probably be renamed into Basiq Air. The name Basiq Air is more widely known in Europe and clearly displays the sort of operations.

That's all for now!

Cheers!

That's good news except for the renaming of HV.

But isn't Air Berlin together with Niki the first LLC alliance?

Best regards,
Sander

Volareweb is still running an alliance with HLX and Air Polonia, where they do all the marketing in Italy and they sell HLX and APN routes from Italy to Germany and Poland.

I'll fly Niki on 20th of may VIE-ZRH (the inaugurational flight on this route ?)
btw. on the booking system of Air Berlin it looks like more than some kind of a half merger than an alliance  Wink/being sarcastic

Jumbolino.

Kind Regards, Jutta.
