OK, this concerns me. If this test had gone off ok, would the pax even know if the explosives had been in his bag? What happens to the poor guy when he tries to travel to the US with traces of explosives on his luggage? I've heard of the same tests being done with narcotics. Does anyone know the protocol for this? Personally, I'd demand new luggage from the gov't.
