Silent Review/Silent Checklist

I've often heard cabin crew speak of a "silent review" or "silent checklist." I just wondered
1. When does this take place? (Taxi? Takeoff?)
2. What does it include?

This is a mental checklist of what we would do drill wise in the event of an emergency on landing or take off.
