I don't see it Yegbey01. Could you give us some more info?

I checked July and I still only see the daily 777-200ER and the 1x weekly 747-400 on Saturdays.

There is no additionnal AF flights to BEY this summer, excpet the weekly B744 on Fridays. But the regular flight AF566/AF565 will be upgraded from a B772 to a B744 on certain days during the highest peak of the summer season, like on June 29th.

ME209/ME209, normally operated by the A321 will also be upgraded on certain days to an A332... that's maybe what you are talking about, Yegbey01....

The booking forecast are already excellent for the next months on the route...
My best friend (an AF F/A leaving in BEY) left CDG to BEY yesturday Sat.May 15th on AF566 and he flew on a jumpseat, as the flight was packed in all the 3 classes...that's why occasionnaly, AF plans to offer additional seats by using the B744 iso B772 on certain days.

Guys,
There will be 4 departues on Fridays:

08:35 13:40 ME206 0
09:25 14:35 ME208 0
10:25 15:45 ME210 0
13:40 19:00 ME212 0

The new Friday departue bears the ME code, yet it says it is operated by AF.

The Friday flight will be complemented by the Saturday B744 flight starting in July.

Yegbey01, Where did you have this info. ?

The flight ME208 at 9:25AM you mention is operating on SATURDAYS, not on fridays. It's AF562, operated by a B744, returning from BEY at 4:55PM as AF561/ME207 and arriving at CDG at 8:30PM...

Hmm.....you're right Yegbey01.

Although it might be a bug. I only see the MEA code-share of it, but not the AF flight number. Either it is a bug, or AF hasn't updated their schedules yet.

FlySSC,

Could you tell me how many seats are on AF's 772ERs, 744s, and A332s? At least the ones that are used on shorter routes like BEY?

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't AF changing all its fleet to 2-classes except the 772ERs and 773ERs?

BA,

This is right : only the B772ER & B773ER will remain configured with 3 classes.

At AF, each aircraft type of the long-haul fleet has only one configuration.

At the moment, the modification of the cabin has begun for the fleet of A332/A343. One B744 is already fitted with the new seats in the 2 classes config : it's the last a/c F-GITJ received last month.

Here is the configuration of the AF's long haul fleet; Before and After modifications.

B747-400 (16 aircraft) : 13P / 58J / 321 Y will become : 40J / 393 Y

B777-200ER (25 aircraft) : 12P / 56J / 202 Y ---> 8P / 49J / 193 Y

B777-300ER (16 aircraft on order. 2 already delivered) : 8P / 67J / 235 Y

A340-300 (21 aircraft) : 6P / 42J / 204 Y ---> 36J / 236 Y

A330-200 ( 14 aircraft) : 6P / 42J / 163 Y ---> 40J / 179 Y

None of the B772ER are already modified.
The B744 that will be used this summer to BEY will still be fitted with the "old" configuration 13/58/321. But the additional Saturday's weekly flight will be sold as "all economy" : 13+58+321 = 392 Y seats.

Bonjour!

There's a high load between CDG and BEY, does it mean a cheap price???

I think that it is quiet expensive to fly to BEY.

BEY is a great city!

The A330 flight is appearing on the Air France schedule,I just checked it.
Traffic between BEY & CDG is really impressive,on Fridays three A330s will serve the route, two MEA & one AF,in addition to the usual daily B777,plus the weekly 744.
How long has the online booking been working from Lebanon?

You never cease to amaze me FlySSC. You are an Air France encyclopedia.  Smile

Will the A330 that AF will use to BEY be the new two-class configuration or the three-class configuration?

How many 772ERs have been modified and which does AF use to BEY currently?

Any chance of seeing the 773ER?  Big grin

There will be a total of 23 flights a week:

5x MEA A321-200
9x MEA A330-200
1x AFR A330-200
1x AFR B747-400
7x AFR B777-200ER

Plus the Sunday Iran Air B747-200 operating Tehran (THR) - Beirut (BEY) - Paris Orly (ORY).

So a total of 24 flights a week. It might become even higher if menaJet does indeed start up operations between Paris and Beirut.....

BA,

None of the B772ER have been modified yet. The priority is given to the A343 and A332.

The aircraft that will be used for the additional flights (A332 & B744) will be aircraft, sitting on the tarmac at CDG in between two flights (concerning the A332, probably arriving very early in the morning from Africa, and leaving back to Africa on the evening...) so BEY might get the chance to have a "modified" A332 (one of them is used on the route CDG-BKO-CDG).

Concerning the B744, as I mentionned, only one is fitted with the new config and it used on the CDG-HAV route.

Concerning this second additional flight (A332 on friday) it was decided only last week to "create" it. It is a special request from the Management of the Central Reservation as the demand on the route seems to be even higher than previous summer.
We are just in mid-may, and the morning AF flight is already full very often. As I wrote in a post above, last saturday may 15th, my best friend had to travel on a jump seat on this flight... which is quite rare, especially on a saturday, as there is usually one or two seats left at least in Business or First !

Any chance BEY will see the 773ER or will they always be busy on long-haul routes like JFK and NRT?

AF has received its second B773ER just three days ago.
The aircraft is used during the "training period" on the CDG-JFK route, operating the daily AF006 until June 13th.
At this date, AF will have received its third a/c and will be able to operate them on their "real" market : the CDG-NRT route, from June 14th.

5 aircraft are due to be delivered before the end of this year. For the moment, None of them is scheduled to be used on the CDG-BEY REGULARLY.

Any news on menaJet? The stupid Lebanese law preventing any other carrier besides MEA to operate scheduled flights out of Beirut seems to be causing problems. It sounds as if menaJet will become a charter instead of a low-fare carrier?
