Does anyone know any good plane spotting areas at JFK and/or LGA?

Thanks!

For LGA, Try Planeview Park at the end of the approach to runway 40. Planeview Park is on Ditmars Ave between 83rd and 85th Streets. When planes land on this runway they are so low over the park, you can even see the pilots inside. If you are ever there around lunchtime and you see a well dressed extremely handsome gentleman sitting there eating lunch, it is probably me. Come over and say hi.

LaGuardia-the main terminal. Follow signs for parking garage and there are rocking chairs at the bottom of the escalators. Also the food court is a good place to spot from.

JFK-nowhere on the airport that you can stay for very long. If you have a car go out to Howard Beach or down in the Rockaways.

This is an excellent resource for NYC and other locations:

If you have any more specific questions, feel free to ask.

Rich4961, If you know anyone with access to the beaches on atlantic beach then go there. I often go out and lie on the beach with my scanner just watching the planes. It doesnt get you too close but you get clear views of all of the arriving and departing traffic. It is heaven on earth.
