Back when I lived in paradise I used to pick up always the B747's to mainland with CO and UA, now I don't see any.

Do you guys know if there is any B747 flying to/from HNL-Mainland?

Not regularly, but sometimes United substitutes our high-density (2 class) 777 with a 747-400. Happened to my friend just the other week on flight 67 from SFO to HNL. Aircraft was N199UA.

If Im not mistaken, Northwest flys them from MSP during the high season. That may have changed but I remember seeing them fly over SFO enroute to HNL not to long ago!

UA subs the 744 and NW also does the same thing, presumably to, SEA,SFO or LAX even MSP with a 742

UA and NW are the only carriers that I can't think of that sometimes substitute a B747 from HNL - Mainland. Right now, UA is often putting in a B744 for the HNL-SFO route.

TW used to fly the B741 from STL-HNL-STL at one point.

As far as I know, UA doesn't have any non-stops from the islands to SEA.

Je89_w: "UA and NW are the only carriers that I can't [can?] think of that sometimes substitute a B747 from HNL - Mainland." Surely UA and NW are the only carriers in the United States that operate the B747?

fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz
