Yesterday afternoon I did some spotting at Arlanda when the regular Air China 767 was about to land on runway 26, I saw the plane in the distance and it was nothing special with the landing attempt but just about 15-20 second before it should have started flying in over the runway the landing was aborted and the aircraft rocketed back to the sky again, all traffic at ARN was stopped for like 10 minutes while it made a go around, flew above runway 26 then crossed 01L-19R (the runway that was used for takeoff yesterday) made a large parabolic left turn (to the north) straightened up and landed safely on 26 with very low speed. I was standing right by the runway when it passed 300 feet above my head after the first attempt (took some great pictures but they are yet to be screened). Now I wonder if anybody have some information about why the plane had to make a go around, kind of unusual especially at ARN a day like this when the movements were slow. Maybe the aircraft was about to miss the threshold ? After this I had to leave so I do not know if the plane took of on time or not when it headed back to Beijing.
