That white building in the background, if you follow the 1L door on that 767 was our motorpool when I was based there in 1992. I worked in that building.
Glad to see something of my old base still survives.
In that photo you can see our old barracks. It is the U shaped tan brick building with the red roof right above the delta insignia on the airplane fuselage, if you follow a line straight up.
Ahhh memories.

Did Delta ever use the A310 on internal European services (alongside the 727), or did A310 flights to Europe all start in the US? I think Pan Am had a few A310s based at Frankfurt, I certainly remember seeing one fly over London but it could have been their short-lived Cleveland-Detroit-London service.
Great post! Lots of research, thanks for putting in the time for us.
fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz

"Nice report.....were you that bored? "
Thanks, yes very bored. It's something I've been wanting to do though, I miss the good old days.
Indeed I think DL did serve Bucharest Romania with a 727 that was routed to Frankfurt via Budapest, also Im almost postive DL served Geneva (briefly) via Paris.
Another one I think I left out is Krakow Poland, again a DL 727 via Warsaw and Frankfurt.

I still see lots of military aircraft in the database from Stuttgart, but almost all of it is Navy. Do they have a base there?

I know for a fact that DL operated some A310s from CDG to Tel Aviv and another destination briefly, Im sure they operated them from Frankfurt too but Im assuming the aircraft were based at JFK and operating JFK-Frankfurt-XXX.

Why 727s? After DL took over Pan Am's European routes, they used AB) (FRA / FRF / EDDF), Germany">FRA as a European hub and flew to many other destinations using 727s. Looking back, DL has pulled out of many locations. Hopefully, an improving economy will add destinations.

STT757-Don't forget about TWA 727's
Just a note to some younger members, things have changed significantly since early 90's, don't seem so surprised if you see refernces to something long gone.

I've got my Delta Airlines System Timetable in front of me from November 1st, 1991 (right after DL purchased Pan Am's Trans-Atlantic/Frankfurt routes).
