I know there used to be an airline called Virgin Sun which flew Airbusses. As far as I know, it no longer operates since about the year 2000-2001.
What happened? What were the origins of that airline? Is is the airline of a tour operator called Virgin Sun or is it a stand-alone charter airline not affiliated to any particular tour operator? Which airports did they go to (base in the UK, destinations in the sun?)

Virgin Sun was set up by the Virgin Group to operator charters for Virgin Holidays, which at the time offered medium-haul packages. It was based in MAN and operated a few of the A320 family aircraft, but due to poor sales the venture was given up, and, i think Virgin is just concentrating on long-haul packages now.

My aviation career has hit a little turbulence. Virgin Sun was going to be my entry into the aviation career. Maybe I will fly BA, second on my list. Then AF, if I have to start with the A318s. My run-way to becoming a pilot have divided into many other run-ways .
