I walked past the Continental and Frontier ticket counters today and noticed a Sun Country sign up. It was a cheap old 3x3 sign on the wall, but it wasn't there 2 days ago. Nothing else was there other then the sign. Are they returning to San Francisco again?

Could be, They better do something. IFP is growing! Some people from the Bay area may want to take a short trip to Laughlin and do some gambling!

The website has always said SFO. Even when they pulled out they never removed it. Many airlines have a city they don't serve on the website. I have not seen thier planes here though. They also were handled by DL before. Now they are near F9/CO.

You are correct. That explains why the sign was not there 2 days ago. I guess CO will handle them this time around. I see them currently over S. Dakota.
