I am planning a trip to and from Barbados in November 2004. I think that BA operates one flight per week to BGI out of Heathrow on a seasonal basis- does anyone know when this flight operates, and aircraft used?
I heard that this flight replaces the Concorde service?

According to the latest timetable from the BA website, they do not operate LHR-BGI.
The timetable is valid until 30th October, 2004. It also doesn't appear that they will have a LHR service this winter. However, it has such a premium market, who knows, they may consider re-instating it for the peak season.

Thanks for clearing that up Mark. I did remember seeing a saturday LHR serivce sometime ago, but I wasnt sure if it was still in operation.
Hey Cambrian, BWIA a few years ago and BWIA now is a bit different. Now they fly the route using the A340's, which are said to be quite comfortable even in coach. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. For me, the PTV's BA and VS offers would be my reason for flying BA. If it is you are flying in a premium class, the BA Club or VS Upper I am sure is far better BW Business.
But from talking to a few passengers who flew BW from LHR, they were pleased with the service..

I agree Captaink - BW have changed a lot.
BWIA are not that bad. Superb legroom and friendly FA's. Sure the food wasn't that great when I flew them, and the IFE is not very good, but you will be comfortable for the flight. For Y class, I would recommend BW. If you are uprgading, then perhaps one of the other 2, although according to BW website, their legroom in Business is excellent. Can't say for sure though, as I have never tried it myself.

Thanks for the comments, guys.
Captain K, I am sure that Beewee have improved their service on their new A340 flights, but I am coming back from Barbados in First, which is why I opted for BA until VS Upper Class Suites appear out of LGW. The Gatwick routes will probably get the new suite when the next generation of suites is being rolled out of Heathrow. It annoys me that BA and VS treat their lucrative Caribbean routes as second class.
I am flying to Barcelona and taking a cruise to Barbados, and flying home to London from there. I just did that trip in reverse.

BA's services to BGI from LHR were the Concorde services at peak periods. I do not know whether they plan to replace those with other planes but their regular LGW services have 3 classes of service (unlike those to other Caribbean destinations which are generally 2-class).
