What are the specs. for the MD-88? Is everything the same on it as the MD-83/82/81?? What is the major difference (if any)? More pax?

Obviously everything can't be same on the MD-88 as on the MD-83/82/81 since the MD-83/82/81 are all different from eachother. The MD-88 has a slightly more advanaced flight deck and I believe uprated engines, but I'm not sure about that.

I think the MD-88 is more longer also. You will find some great info. on the aircraft on the Delta AirLines' homepage.

Thanks, everyone. I did a little snooping on my own, too and found out that the MD-88 is the exact same as the MD-80's, except with an improved cabin and flight deck. I think engines, too!

Its the MD-87 that is shorter then the fleet that MD (Boeing) has. The MD-87 is about the size of a DC-9-50.
