What Is Air Nauru's 734 Doing In MEL For 48hrs

Air Nauru flies there once a week on the INU-HIR-BNE-MEL vv. flight. But ON351 is arriving on Friday around 21:30 at Melbourne and leaving again on Sunday night around 22:05 to Nauru. Why do they keep the aircraft more than 48hrs on ground. Is it cheaper to keep it on the ground because ON doesn't have other routes to fly on with reasonable loads or do they offer charter flights ex MEL during that time?

The same thing happens in Nauru as well. Flight ON342 arrives on Wednesday at 09:45 and only leaves INU the next day at 11:15, another stay which is more than 24 hrs! On the BNE run, they keep it around 8 hrs on the ground.

Both pictures taken at Sydney. Air Nauru doesn't operate it self into SYD as per their schedule. So do they operate for another airline as well? When I did a search, I found a note, that ON operates to Norfolk Islands as well.

Qantas performs line & heavy maintenance for Air Nauru at their B737 maintenance base at Melbourne Airport.

Also Norfolk Jet Express charter/wet lease the aircraft on weekends to operate services to NLK from Mel via Syd. I think the aircraft also operates to NLK from Bne as well? They have applied to operate from NLK to Auckland/NZ too!

Thanks a lot for all your replies. VH-BZF, I found in the CRS, that ON is operating following YE flights:

Day 3 on the BNE-NLK-BNE, on day 6 and 7 a MEL-NLK-MEL and MEL-SYD-NLK-SYD-MEL rotation.

Did anyone fly on ON once? I intend to fly them on a BNE-INU vv or BNE-INU-TRW vv. Do they have any special fares in Australia? Here in Europe I only found their published fares which are around 1200 AUD for a INU flt.
