What's happening with Swiss International Air Lines order for the Embraer 170 and Embraer 195. They have already delayed the order on a number of occasions.
The Swiss carrier 'inherited' the order from Crossair, but the order does not fit into the company's plans and the airline has on a number of occasions tried to cancel part if not all the order unsuccessfully.
Last I heard was last year when they were to delay deliveries of 15 Embraer 170s and 15 Embraer 195s by another year. As a result, the first Embraer 170 was planned for June 2004 (a few days away). Is it still scheduled for delivery? What about the Embraer 195s, when are they coming?

Not a bad solution for Embraer in my opinion. When Crossair has bought the Embraers they have got a special price because they were launch customer etc. A price that is much lower than the price Embraer asks for now.
So in the end Embraer can sell the Embraers for a higher price to other customers...
This is also why they have not complained so much when SWISS wanted to cancel the order...

Yes of course. My statement was not made to criticise Crossair or SWISS. I just mentioned it because usually a company (Embraer in this case) would not accept cancellation of such an important deal. But obviously they accept-at least a partial cancellation- without getting upset.

Yes, they have to pay a fine due to their delay.
THere was a article about that on Valor Economico here, our financial paper.
It´ll cost Swiss almost half bilion dolar due to it´s postpone, thay have also postponed some ERJ 145 as EMB 170/195.
THey fine will be discussed, but they will pay something.
According to Embraer, they´re not worried about, and this fact will not back their forecast of 160 deliveris in 2004 and 170 in 2005.That, only time´ll say.
