SFO-Zurich But Not On Swiss

Belair will begin seasonal service from SFO-Zurich starting June 30 - September 1. They will use a 767-300 on this route. It's a shame Swiss does not re-enter this route. I guess because of their financial situation, they have better things to worry about.

The flight will operate ZRH-LAS-SFO-ZRH. Somewhat of a rehash of what Balair did prior to Swissair entering the San Francisco market.

Im sure it will be nice for the SFO spotters to see the colorfull airline.

This is great news for SFO, and Belair. I would like to see LX re-enter the market, but that is probably unlikely, as per their financial woes. I can't wait for the service to start.

Already a few years ago, Balair/CTA operated an A310 from ZRH to SFO and vv.

Legacyins, I doubt, that Swiss will go back into SFO very soon and I don't think it should be a shame for a carrier not operating to every airport they would like to ...

Actually AA's daily B763 ZRH-DFW flight continues on to SFO. So I doubt there is the need for Swiss to operate their own metal into SFO.

Swissgabe, I remember those A310. Didn't they have yellow wings?

Anyone have the times for these flights? Will it be the usual evening European bank?

Swissair dropped SFO because the route didn't pay off enough. I don't see SWISS entering this route now. ZRH-SFO is (or was at least) more of a leisure market with rather lower yields.

yes, their 310 hat yellow wings. now, Belair is operating 763 without any yellow wings.

does anyone know, if Belair still has charters into Anchorage as Balair did earlier?
