In connection with MMMX reality ( http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/1565321/ ), Its now time to show CUN stats and verify once again that foreign carriers dominate the terminal. Hope this info gets into the hands of the right people in case they're reading.....

For 2003 Mexican airlines had 11% control of the market against an 89%. For this summer looks like it will be 08% vs. 92%.

Help yourself:

http://www.geocities.com/ghost737/realidad.html (Complete numbers on Ms Excel sheet)

MEx Summer 2004 list has also been updated. Also there might be errors on CUN Summer 2004 sheet, please let me know what I did wrong and I'll change the route, aircraft used, weekly frequencies, seats, asap.

Ricardo

Morales you must remember that Cancun is considered to be an overflowed market in Mexico, with most of our national airlines flying there. There is a sobreoferta??? of flights!

Yet, I guess airports like Canarias, and most Caribbean destinations are serviced more by international than national airlines. We have to understand that for European and American tourists Cancun is very cheap, and all of Mexico in fact is cheaper for them than for us mexicanos! We have to thank our strong (yeah right)! PESO!!

Sad reality indeed, but at least we're one heck of a tourist paradise!!

Saludos!

Ghost77,

Just checking:

In your MEX summer 2004 you state AM is flying MEX-BOG... Is that correct?
You miss to include MEX-PTY with LB.

A few more questions:

1. You do not count TA MEX-SAL. Have they stopped their two dailies?
2. You do not include MEX-LAS with HP, and only 7x MEX-PHX with America West. I thought they were doing 14x.

Thanks

PZ

Next flight: IAH-DBX-MRU-ANT

Its MEX-BOS!

You miss to include MEX-PTY with LB.

I did not include PTY but I included LB MEX-VVI

1. You do not count TA MEX-SAL. Have they stopped their two dailies?

Truth I forgot TA and SAL. I think they still fly the two dailies.

2. You do not include MEX-LAS with HP, and only 7x MEX-PHX with America West. I thought they were doing 14x.

MEX-LAS has been included now!

MEX2004 list has been updated and uploaded!
