ESPN.com has a excerpt of a new book on the 1986 NY Mets Baseball team (whom won the world series that year). The excerpt discusses the horrible beheavor of the team on a UA DC-10 Charter after winning the N.L. Championship in Houston, and the aftermath. It also discusses how at that time Ozark Airlines (later part of US) provided a lot of sports charter services, the quality of the airlines services (on DC-9's!) and the abuse and wild beheavor of the Mets and other sports teams on those flights. This excerpt is something of interest of many here as to how crazy it used to get on sports charter a flight (today the flights would diverted and the players put into jail)

I've heard some really outlandish tales about the '86 Mets. One had to do with Kevin Elster making out with another ballplayers' girlfriend in the locker room during a game, another having something to do with Kevin Mitchell and a cat or dog.
I'll have to check this book out.
