IAD-FRA Upgraded To 744 On UA

Specifically, flight 916, there might be others.

I'm scheduled to fly it a month today, and happened to notice the upgrade. Is this just for the summer, or part of the overall transition from 772s to 744s, given the lower lease/operating cost rates for UA with the 744?

Anyhow, while I'm disappointed my first flight on a 777 is delayed, I will get to experience my first trip on a 744! And there's no better airline, either!  Big grin

seems like it's 747 for the summer schedule and changes back to 777 for winter schedule.

UA really needs the capacity... Aside from CDG and LHR, most of United's European travellers are only taken as far as Frankfurt or Munich on UA (sometimes not even that far). LH takes over from there.

Stick with LH over the water. With due respect for their partner UA, LH just does a better job on long hauls.

Loads are so high to Europe this month and July that UA has imposed a Non-Rev Embargo for some eligibles.
