I've picked up a vague rumour that a new South Korean (?) airline is entering service in august 2004. Amongst the first destination to be served is the Maledives. The name of the airline was mentioned to me, but it slipped away. As good as I understood it, it must be a charter airline for holiday makers. Anyone has more on this, or heard something similar?

I have never heard about a new int'l Korean carrier flying to the Maldives, Although I have heard of a new Korean-LCC based in CheongJu (CJJ) City, operating two F-100s, which will start services this October.

I have also heard about a regional airline which will be based in Jeju (CJU).

The biggest mistake made by most human beings: Listening to only half, understanding just a quarter and telling double.

The Maldives? That sounds like the oddball destination from S. Korea, if there ever was one.

It seams that you're not aware of it but... The Maldives is becoming an extremely popular honeymoon destination for young Koreans.

Apparently, the news of this airline appeared on an internetsite, where it put an announcement that it is recruting staff.

Do you have any more info concerning this regional airline in CJU?

Im surprsied none of the big North East Asian carriers have started flying to Maldives, only EVA Air did during the 90's with a 763ER.

.....up there with the best!
