Looks strange. Is this real????

What's up with 9V-SMN now? Are they going to sell it? How many B 747-400s does SQ operate now?

What the hell is up with that?!

9V-SMN is one of the older MEGATOPS that SIA has in the fleet. Haven't heard of any rumours that that particular MEGATOP is to depart for someone else though.

SMN has been upgraded as well. I doubt this picture is real.

So is SMN still flying?

United.....The picture is real thank you.

As TTT has stated 9V-SMN is leased and it looks as though it is either being returned to the Lessor or just receiving a new coat of paint.

I took the shot because it did look odd but apparently I was badly motivated and so it was rejected. Ah well another time.

Etihad Girl, You're a great way to fly.

The last picture of her in this database was on the 22nd of January of this year:

Another website has a photograph of it in April. Perhaps it is simply part way through a repaint, and has been taken outside the hangar for whatever reason.

The obvious question I'd like to ask, however, is where are the windows?

Thanks for the info.

So it will continue to fly for SINGAPORE AIRLINES right? At least for a while right?

CX, Dragonair, Air Atlanta and if I´m not mistaken, Corsair, have aquired 744s from SIA recently all of which are still to be delivered. Maybe this is one of them?

Not Corsair and Air Atlanta I guess? But the earlier two yes.

But not so soon. At least not until 2006 (Correct me if I am wrong).

So I guess they just repainting the aircraft for themselves right?

SQ is selling 8 of the oldest B 747-400s. Maybe not this one?

One things for sure its real, I dont think ejazz/Bailey is known for doing fake pics!!

As for that 744, it has to be the stragest paint job I've ever seen. Did they get three quarters of it done and then think forget, we can finish it later!!

Does anyone know what's up with this plane? Will it fly for SQ again?

What about SMM? Still flying I guess?

Tsentsan:

Any word on the two SQ B744's that are being painted in Singapore for IB?(Two that are supposed to be wet-leased through Air Atlanta) Have they finished painting yet? I belive the SQ registrations are 9V-SMC and 9V-SME.

EDITED: Disregard this post Tsentsan....I saw you revived the IB 747 post and my question has been answered from there! Thanks!

SMN has new first class/business class seats right?

So what are they going to do with SMN???? Repaint it back into SQ's colour and fly for SQ again???? Or will it be returned to its lessor? Or to someone else?

This is what I found on SIA's website:

http://img.singaporeair.com/pdf/english/FinancialResults/Newsrelease-FY0304.pdf

3 B 747-400s will be released from the operating fleet. Wonder if SMN is one of them. Guess the other two are non spacebed ones like SMO right????

What's up with SMN now? Will it return to service with SIA?

8 B 747-400s will be sold. We all know that. Does anyone know which ones are they? And how many B 744s will they have after the sale? 27? 28?

On paper, 9V-SMN was sold to Boeing. It is going to XMN to be converted into a SF. Once the conversion is complete, the aircraft will be sold to CX.

How many B 747-400s will SQ have in the operating fleet after the sale? 27? 28?
