I am not quite sure where this flew in from, but, I am assuming it was Detroit. If so, I am sure it is auto related, there is a UAW golf course up that way... They have had these flights in the past... I have seen MIDEX and ATA on my flight tracker @ PLN.

On a side note, no foreign cars allowed at this golf club!  Big grin

Maiz, there is no UAW golf club up there. There is a country club that a lot of retired auto execs live at and/or belong to, but nothing for the union guys. This charter could have been related to the Detroit Chamber of Commerece and Southeastern Michigan conference that has been going on at Macinaw Island for the past week or so. Or it could just be one of those casino charter junkets to LAS from Northern Michigan.

ATA 6901 is an Ambassadair flt number; I believe it was a day-trip for IND-area members to Mackinac Island. See http://www.ambassadair.com/

PSU I think you owe me an apology, doubt Ill get it though...

Anyhow,
Summer 2001 is when I learned of this exclusive UAW owned golf course. I was watching bizjets at Pellston and I spoke with the crew of a Ford Gulfstream V that flew in and offloaded a bunch of execs and their golf clubs. They spoke of this golf club called Black Lake Golf Club. My uncle used to own a golf pro shop in TVC and he has been invited and played at this golf course.

http://www.blacklakegolf.com/

This golf course is in americas top 100 Golf Courses.

The ATA flight came in from IND and departed back to IND. Still might have been auto as there are many ties to Michigan's auto industry in Indiana.

Sounds like you are lost in "Big Town" Harbor Springs.  Big grin

Ok, so the flight was for a group of people visiting Mackinac Island. There is another one planned August 5th.

Thanks Joe.  Big thumbs up

You're right Maiz, I'll give you that. I learn something everyday. Its on the East side of I-75, hence why I don't know anything about it and its only been open since 2000. I thought Garland used to be run as a Ford retreat, but I don't think they have any interest in it anymore, if it is even open now. Birchwood Farms up there has a lot of old Detroit and Chicago money in it.

Hmm, I wonder whose dues money paid for that, ha!

I have yet to see it, I just heard about it. It sure does contribute to aviation up that way.
