China's state-run Xinhua News Agency reports that Air China would be introducing 19 passenger aircrafts this year in order to expand its fleet to 150.

Out of 19 passenger aircrafts, 2 would be Boeing 767-300s, and the rest are going to be Boeing 737s as well as Airbus A320s.

Full details could be found at http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2004-06/08/content_1515092.htm

Always glad to hear that. By the way, when they are going to roll out the NEW livery?

That Phoenix thing has just GOT to go. It must be one of the world's worst logos. I like the double blue cheat lines though. Why don't they just put the red flag back up or a design of a pile of cash?

To Wang767 & Spike,

From various sources, I was being advised that Air China had ruled out the possibility in re-designing its unique livery at least in the immediate future, as the management simply wants to save more money for stock exchange listing soon in the future.

nothing exciting about the type of a/c they are going to introduce though, any way, good to hear. by the way, i don't mind their current livery too much, but was quite excited when they changed cabin uniform 1.5yrs ago

There was lots of talk of a new scheme in the VERY near future, so what happened to that?

To N754pr,

I believe that plan was either temporarily postponed or cancelled.

I like the crane/phoenix logo... it's the nasty logotype and antiquated blue stripes that need to go. I've noticed that many of the airlines in China (Xiamen Airlines and China Eastern come to mind) have dull logotypes and overall dull liveries.

Still, their business is booming, so I guess they're doing lots of other things right!
