I was browsing through some photo's taken at Phuket in Thailand and saw a lot of aircraft photo's very similar to St. Maarten, with aircraft coming in over the beach and the famous 'Rock' where you can take very nice photo's of taxiing/ landing and/or aircraft taking off. You can take very nice photo's from a lot of different angles. The aircraft flying to Phuket are apparently bigger than the ones coming in at St. Maarten. An example being Thai Airways which flies their 777-200/-300 and 747-400 to Phuket besides their 737 and A300-600. Orient Thai also uses L-1011 and 747 aircraft to Phuket. Then there are charter airlines like Britannia, Novair and Finnair flying charters to Phuket as well. Judging by the areal photo taken of Phuket, the airport is larger then St. Maarten.
Anyway, it just surprised me that there is another airport in paradise, like St. Maarten is. Phuket International Airport looks very interesting too.

There's also not the road infront of the threshold like at SXM, It is a nice approach over the beach because for a fraction of a second your low, beautiful beach, empty...nice waters....just frames up nicely....HKT is a great place, first vacation we went on was there when we lived in Singapore
