Are there charter airlines as such in the US like we have over here in the UK and europe?

The only light I can shed on this is that Mr. Laker used to have a house in Miami. I know he does alot of operation here so you might have seen his plane coming from England. He also used to do a lot of charter in the Middle East.

There's also Sun Country Airlines, which operates mainly out of Minneapolis... I believe.
