I'm going to the US Open later this week. We're parking at Westhampton/Grabesi Airport. Since there will be a major invasion of bizjets, does anybody know if there are any good photography spots around the airport?

Since you felt bad that nobody replied to your query, here's an answer.

For someone who lives on LI I have to admit I haven't been out there in a while but it's not the greatest place to spot or photograph. Simply because there is not too much there. As for spots you can get great pics as long as there is something worth photographing.

From my one visit to Gabreski I would say that they'll all probably be parked on the main ramp (the one and only ramp, really), so you can take all the pictures you want of everything(if there aren't a whole bunch of security idiots running around).
Be sure to visit Belle's for breakfast or lunch (not open for dinner)- absolutely great food.

Have fun!

sorry can't help you. i've only been to gabreski once and that was for fuel. didn't really look around. i've flown over it a bunch of times too, though at those times i wasn't looking for that either.

Not only will you see bizjets but Gabreski is home base for the 106th Rescue Wing of the New York Air National Guard. So there is a good chance you could see some of those planes.
