According to BuissnessNews, a local newspaper in Reynosa (REX), AM is receiving 10 ERJ-145 for its regional carrier (Aerolitoral) to serve some domestic routes such as Guadalajara-Ciudad Juárez, Monterrey-Guadalajara and Monterrey-Ciudad Juárez.
These aircrafts will substitute the Saabs 340 on a lease basis of 120,000 USD per month.

Great news, don´t you agree?

AeroLitoral ordered 5 aircraft + 30 options. 3 had been delivered already and 2 more will follow in October and September (one each month).

I spoke with my friend at Aerolitoral and she told me that all those 30 options will be converted into firm orders.... (as soon as lease agreement ends from a Saab 340 it will be replaced by an EMB145...)

Expect then 35 new EMB's which 3 of those have been delivered and even flying! They started to fly past June 8th, 2004.

Aerolitoral will get 5 ERJ145LR by the end of this year, and maybe it will convert some of its 25 options ( not 30 ) to orders next year. I also think Aerolitoral should keep some Saab340s to operate routes like MTY-MOV-PNG or CUN-CZM, and instead of replacing the fleet it should add more ERJs to open new routes like ATL, DFW, LAS, DEN, MIA, IAH, PHX, and MEX.

Saab77,

You're right! My mistake!

5 orders + 25 options!

I'm glad those 30 will be firm orders with the time.

BTW. You fly for 5D right? As soon as new QET airport its finished I've been told SLI pretends to dominate the market and create another 'hub'.... Is that true?

Yes!!! I do fly for Aerolitoral. About Queretaro I know Aerolitoral is doing really bad in this route ( QRO-GDL and QRO-SLP ), but is waiting for the new Airport to be ready and expecting load factors to increase, but I have never heard about a HUB in QET, but that would be a very good idea I think. Routes like QET-TIJ or QET-IAH with ERJ145s would be the best ones to start with to me.

Saab77.

Interesting to hear your point of view....

Would you care to explain what exactly is the position of 5D in the lucrative CUN-CZM market now underserved by Aerocaribe?

By the way, today, early in the morning we shared ramp in BJX with XA-BLI (we at spot 4 and they at 5) and let me tell you... the Jungle Jet looks NICE !! Way to go !

Has Aerolitoral started using the ERJ's on their HMO-TUS flights yet?

Sure! Aerocaribe stopped operating this type of routes because they got rid of their turboprop and kept only DC9s, so cintra decided that 5D could keep a couple of their Saabs and put them in service in that route and others like:

CUN-MID, MID-CME, CME-VER, VER-CUN, CUN-TGZ, etc

Aerolitoral is operating as Aerocaribe!

I guess it does, I haven´t seen it yet, Can´t wait!!!!

Has Aerolitoral started using the ERJ's on their HMO-TUS flights yet?

Not yet! the routes are

MTY-CJS-MTY
CJS-GDL-CJS
MTY-BJX-MTY
MTY-GDL-MTY
MTY-CUU-MTY
MTY-CUL-MTY
GDL-PVR-GDL

And I don´t think 5D will use the ERJ to TUS from HMO soon, it is an hour from HMO in a saab so I don´t think there is a need for that.

Saab77,

Well maybe you know her but my friend capt. Veva was the one telling me that in 5D was rumored to open a 'base de pilotos' @ QET once in service. It would be nice to see QET expanding and flying from there to TIJ, CUN, MTY and other routes! Im sure it could work! Hope the best for Aerolitoral! I want to fly with them! So far I've only tried AeroMar. Was also not able to fly Caribe's Fokkers or even those Grand Caravans they had not a long time ago.

AeroLitoral Really needs to use the 145 on the MTY-IAH-MTY route. Passengers really don't want to fly a turbo prop on this rout when there are so many 737's and ERJ's by other companies operating this route. The AeroLitoral flight always goes in and out of Houston with very few passengers sometimes just one or two.
just a little input

Ohh boy, you just missed one the best aircraft ever. The F-27 used by Aerocaribe brings fond memories to me. Gotta love those birds !

Here something worth crying (pics by me Big grin)
