CAn one of you travel agents, help me get to HKG on Sept. 17 and return to NYC on Sept 23?
I would like to fly Business Class or First. It seems the only "cheap" option is on Business with Korean for $4200.
Anything cheaper with another airline?

CO from EWR is $3,156 in BusinessFirst. Not a bad deal, in my opinion.

Well, 1st Air is showing (from Kennedy):
  • OZ offering $3,850.20 roundtrip Biz with a cnnx at ICN
  • SQ/UA offering $4,717.99 roundtrip Biz with a cnnx at SFO.

Good luck, though I somewhat question your reasoning for shoping Biz/1st transport is price is your primary concern.  Nuts

I don't know where you get that info about CO being only until Aug 31st from. I was able to price it out on their website.

AC is starting non-stop operations from YYZ to HKG in August using state of art 340-500s--if you are a Star Alliance member that would get you lots of points----very frequent AC NYC (from either EWR or LGA) to YYZ service and an easy connection on to HK--with the Cdn $ exchange rate you might find it competitive fare--

I have flown AC Executive First business class across the Pacific and it is a superb product---

    Happy travels--

Urmmm, how come no one is mentioning CX?? the Obvious choice!!

It will be the ONLY TRUE Non-Stop flight from JFK-HKG ( I know CO has EWR-HKG!!!) EVERY day.

Also 2 flights to choose from every day (Via YVR or NON-Stop)

I think they are doing special promotions for the launch and for AAdvantage members they are giving aways triple points (I think)!!!!!!

Excellent Service and I think it is the Best option to get to HKG!

Urmmm, because the post's author was looking for cheap over convenience?

...as opposed to the numerous false ones?  Nuts

    ConcordeBoy,
I mentioned CX because they are doing a "Promotion" in launching the service.

The other NON stop alternative = CO, but it goes to EWR and also NOT Daily!!!

I am stressing this point because in HKG CO is doing this Annoying campaign claiming that they are the only one that fly Non-Stop!! Well not for long!

...exactly what is "annoying" about that long-standing simple fact?

    Cx123,

Let him be, as Concordeboy loves to rip peoples posts apart in a cynical and argumentative way. He's always like that.

Indeed, Cx123. In less than 2 weeks' time, we'll witness just how fast they manage to withdraw the ad campaign, lest they be accused of false advertising!!

CO's ads may be annoying, but they are telling the truth. By the way, do they still have them on a bunch of the trams and the Citibus doubledeckers?

They do indeed, as I just saw one this morning when I went to work.

EWR is closer to Wall St than JFK, and CO is the only operator of nonstop services from New York to Hong Kong.

We'll see if CX launches their service.

Must cost them heaps to rip all those ads apart!!

Also the Coolest Ad I saw recently in HKG was the UA one inside the tunnel of the MTR as the traing pass through (Between Wan Chai and Causeway Bay)

    Anyone seen it??

    It is ultra cool!!

The CO ads are annoying because they are everywhere up your face on the MTR, Tram, Bus etc..

Also in one of their ads regarding their BusinessFirst Class, they said "No need to Boast about yourself" in Chinese. And then now they keep on boasting on how good their service is and this Non-Stop thing has really being "Non-Stop" for the past year or 2!! (No Pun intended!!) hahah
