TWA took over many of the gates on C-South, in fact, a few years ago, there were a few doors downstairs that still had TWA stickers on them. TWA had hoped to fill some of the void left by the demise of Eastern, but by the time they started the focus city @ ATL, Delta had already cemented its' new position as the airline @ ATL. Here's the route map of TWA from August of 1993, which includes the ATL focus operation:

Interesting to see a TWA route map. I remember back in '95 we were supposed to fly PDX-MSP-ATL on NW, but NW cancelled our PDX-MSP flight due to very low loads, and bounced us over to TWA through STL. To this day that is the only time I ever flew TWA. A red eye leaving just after midnight. PDX-STL. Early morning arival in STL, and a looooong walk to our ATL flight. Two MD-80's. Me and my step mom and step brother went to ATL about a week ahead of my dad. Then he joined us later, so the three of us got the bulk head on the right side of the plane. Very nice memories of TWA. I wish I could have flown them more

Great route map, thanks for posting it! Haven't seen one since my last TWA flight . TWA was a great airline and always brought STL alot of income (not to mention low fares). I'm off subject I know, but I can't pass up an opportunity to talk about TWA...

I remember flying thru the ATL hub often in the early 90s. ATL To FLL,JFK,DCA, and MIA. On DC-9s and 727s the ride was very cool at the time. I think it did not last very long, if memory serves right. Loved my big L10 from STL to LAX, and JFK-LAX. I even got to ride on a 741 classic from JFK to SJU.
Nothing beat those wide bodies, as the hold good memories for me. Viva TWA.
