Our local news here in IND has reported that US #625 enroute PIT - LAS made an emergency landing here today. The 757 a/c landed safely after the pilot complained of a strange smell and smoke in the cockpit and the plane endured what seems to have been a lightning strike. Passengers reported a loud crash like sound or boom and when interviewed were shaken up, but unharmed. Some five hours later all passengers had been put on another plane to LAS and the investigation continues of the downed plane here in IND at this time. It seems like we have been getting a number of diversions of late. Come visit us sometime. We'd love to have you.

Some people will do anything to get to the US Grand Prix this weekend.
Wish I'd thought of it.
Happiness is not seeing another trite Ste. Maarten photo all week long.

I had a lightning strike about a month ago on a A300. But I didn't even notice it. I was sitting in my J/S at the 1L door and after we landed the CPT asked if I had heard it. He said it struck the nose, but I didn't hear anything.
