How Is US Airways Going?

How is US Airways going at the moment? The last I heard they were close to the end, that was about 2-3 months ago. That was when everyone was talking about it. Any way, is David Seigle (don't hold me to the spelling) still CEO. If not who is? Didn't Seigle once work with the great Gordon B at CO?

David Siegel "voluntarily" resigned as CEO from US Airways. After that, many employees seemed to be somewhat "relieved". I don't have a lot of inside information but I'm sure someone on here does.

I think US will live but as a smaller point to point carrier. They will still keep their lucrative PHL International hub though.

Many think Mr. Siegel was forced out by chairman David Bronner.

US Airways is currently seeking cost cuts from unions to attain a lower cost structure, in order to more readily compete with low-cost carriers. This includes wage and benefit concessions, changes in work rules, and increases in productivity. The company is also trying to increase aircraft utilization and restructure the hub network.

Whether these cost cuts will be successful, or will be attained, is yet to be seen.

Did anyone know that Mr. Siegel was payed in the vicinity of 5 million dollars upon leaving Crystal City?? That's right, folks! This is absolutely outrageous!! And they're asking us for MORE concessions at the expense of corporate greed? Something is very wrong with this picture...you just have to shake your head! The corporate mongers just keep getting richer and if this current corporate culture(mentality) continues, in the next 5 years, 'middle class' America will cease to exist!
