Saudi Arabian Triple Services On RUH-CAI Route

Saudi Arabian Airline have decided to triple their scheduled services between Riyadh and Cairo starting this week to 3 daily flights. This will be the first time as usually in the summer they simply increase capacity by using 747s and add charter flights. This was the case last week.

Now SV will have 3 daily flights (instead of 1):

SV311: B777
SV313: B743
SV315: B744/B777


In addition to these 3 scheduled flights they still have 3 extra daily charter flights for the next 2 weeks on the route.

There is a significant number of Egyptians living in Saudi Arabia and they back home during holidays...

What about MS ? Do they have extra flights ? and what about the prices ? Fixed fares or yield management ?

MS's scheduled services on the route will remain the same, but they have added an extra 3 charter flights each day on the route this week with A320s and B777s.

As for prices, since SV and MS have a complete monopoly on the route, the prices increase dramatically during the summer high season. AF and AT have flights on the route but they don't have fifth freedom rights.
