Hey, i could be off to Palma in just over a month, and the cheapest package oftion is by flying Air Europa. This will be a late night departure on one of their B737-400's from Gatwick. What are they like? Can you reserve seats? Do you get a meal or snack of some kind?

UX (Air Europa) is cheap but nothing special. I flew on them 3 weeks ago MAD-LGW, on a B737-800. I was a little cranky because I had arrived 4 hours earlier from EZE on A4, and UX staff were extremely unhelpful and slow, none of them knowing the correct check-in counter for the flight to London, and failing to warn passengers how to reach the departure gate (the obvious route was closed off).
They are basically an LCC. There is on board service, but soft drinks cost 2.50 euros and snacks a little more. Drinks holders had been torn off every seat. However, the plane was new and the flight was punctual, and for 66 euros one way they are reasonable value for money. You can choose your seat at the check-in desk.

I have flown Air Europa quite a few times, as they used to fly out of my local airport.
I have always found their crew to be very friendly indeed and in-flight service to be the same as any other charter airline... Some people would believe they are only a LCC but they still operate a very large charter operation (esp in the summer).
One thing I would say is they tend to run a little late on charter services but then don’t most charter airlines!?
