Great news for HP and SAN! I'm surprised they chose SAN-SJD, though--soon there will be three airlines on the route (including AM and AS). I suppose an Express flight should do well, though. Ditto SAN-PVR.
It is interesting to note that there is currently no service from Tijuana to either Los Cabos or Puerto Vallarta.

YEG was doing well...I was rather puzzled when they added the nonstop to LAX. The flights have been very light..same with YVR...both were heavier on the weekends but during the week, only booked to about 20 or so. The LAX to PVR, MZT flights are doing VERY well....weekends especially they were all full.

Alright, I needed some good news this morning!!
There is a big marine industry between San Diego and Cabo San Lucas that should justify three flights. Hopefully AM and AS hang in there. SAN-PVR flights are much welcomed as there has been no link between two airports for a few years now. TIJ had a flight to PVR 2 or 3 times a week on AM but that was about it. Someday, hopefully, we'll get SAN-CUN non-stop flights as well.

I predict all the flights between LAX, SAN and OAK into PVR and SJD to be successful ventures... The ones I feel somewhat puzzled about are those departing from LAS... One leisure destination feeding from another?

Regarding the AM flights from TIJ to PVR, they are still operating, on thursdays and sundays with md80 equipment (acording to the latest timetable).
Let's see how AM and AS react in SAN to protect their turf ! Although from the comments I get from my cousin who works with the airport, the loads are quite healthy, so there's probably enough room for everybody. AM is even adding a flight to MZT soon.

Where does HP plan on getting extra facilities to accomodate these extra flights at PVR? When I was there in April, the HP counter had the longest line by far, and that was with an agent at every position. The gate area is also a crowded mess, with many aircraft parked on hardstand due to a lack of gate space.
