Listening to recent radio shows, everyone has been talking about chemtrails appearing more and more over large cities. They claim pilots don't talk about it/don't want to becuase they know what is going on and that they're "killing us slowly". They also said that we'd get a disease. They claim the best way to recognize a chemtrail was that it is cross-hatched and it stays up for over 30 minutes.
I personally think there is such a thing, but certainly not as often as they say.

Seeing as how you're from Toronto, you have certainly seen your exhaled breath while outdoors on a cold winter's day. Congrats! You now know the "secret" of contrails, since the same thing is taking place up at altitude...
The reason the contrails are cross-hatched (in some cases) is that the aircraft generating the contrails are flying published airways (routes), and the contrails end up going where the aircraft flying the routes have been.
Of course, the loonies who think all these contrails are "chemtrails" will point out that since airliine employees disagree with them that we're all then automatically part of the "conspiracy" and can't be trusted. Yeah, right..
All you have to do is look at any picture of a contrail-generating airliner in the database, note the contrail emanating from the back of the engine (a heat source, and not from some super-secret spray nozzles) and think back to what happens to your exhaled breath on a cold day. It's as simple as that....

I'd like to see someone calculate how many people would have to be "in on it" in order for the chemtrail conspiracy to work.
The trails are left by airliners, military planes and private/government aircraft of all nations over all countries and ocean. They start and stop for reasons that seem to have nothing to do with population maps. Thousands of us, maybe millions of us have been able to crawl all over these planes unmolested by any security people.
Where were the fillers for the chemical tanks?
Where is the plumbing?
Where are the controls?
Why are they using such a wildly inefficient system?
To what end?
I mean, most of us believe that there are governments out there that might kill us or control our minds (as if we can control our own minds) but is THIS the way to do it?

I'll have to go along with SlamClick here. The only way two people can keep a secret is if one of them is not with the living. Truth has a way of finding it's way to the surface. The amount of people necesary to carry out such a grand scheme is mind boggling. In the society we live in, govt. just doesn't have the talent to pull big conspiracies.

Yes, they are trails of chemicals coming out of the aircraft. They're just not the type of chemicals the conspiracy theorists want them to be, but simple water vapour, carbon dioxide, and incompletely burned Jet-A.
And to those claiming that jet aircraft make for global warming: the average surface temperature in the US of A actually went up a few tenths of a degree when all air traffic was halted after Sept. 11 because less heat was reflected away in the atmosphere before reaching the surface (contrails work exactly the way clouds do in that, they reflect energy from the sun back into space, preventing the earth from heating up).

The government needed a break in air traffic to test a new space satellite based system which will someday replace chemtrails as a method of controlling society's attitudes, the weather, and baseball scores. The test was a failure, and so they have gone back to the drawing board until they figure out another diversionary tactic to test again.
Seriously though, I love listening to Art Bell, but he and his guests make Weekly World News look like the New York Times. I'm still waiting on the Y2K apocalypse he was ranting about 5 years ago.

All I can say is this: it DID happen but it was all covered up. Noticed the massive increase of chemtrails in January 2000? That's part of the coverup operation.
