Hello All, I just booked a ticket on NWA and on the outbound flight from GPT, there are only Premium seats left. If that is the case, if the premium seats are not filled on the day of the flight, will NW sit me in one of those seats?

From my experience, yes. Premium seats are released into the system for all I think 24 hours before the flight. Same thing is happening to be in July on CO EWR - SXM and back.

If you are a member of NW's frequent flyer program you should be able to fly in the Premium class.

If not, you should pray that there is no member of NW's frequent flyer program aboard  Wink/being sarcastic

the premium seats are released to anyone at the airport at check-in. member of frequent flyer program or not.

suggestion. get there early to get your seats. you are in the tiny group (those without seat assignments) that will be the first to get bumped if the flight is overbooked. confirmed reservations without seat # assignments are pretty much worthless.

Tired of airline bankruptcies....EA/PA/TW and finally DL.

If you check in on one of those SSD Machines lets say 3 hrs in advance it won't let you pick a Premium Seat it will either let choose from one of the other seats or put you on the Conf list. The Conf List is the list that the Gate gets of all of the Psgrs that have Reservations on the flight but were unable to get a boarding card at check in. If I were you I would check in on the Internet get a seat and print off your boarding pass and then go to the ticket counter and ask the agent if you could get a better seat. Cause the ticket agents can assign any seat on the seat map from the Y class. Hope this helps

I don't care who you fly just as long as you fly

Nope... if you're Elite, you can reserve the seat at booking, if not, then you'll have to slide into it via the method I'll mention below.

NWA.com will tell you that the premium seats are reserved for WorldPerks Elite members. What they don't tell you is that those Elite members are upgraded into First automatically, beginning 5 days before the flight according to status. The seats vacated by upgraded passengers will be yours to choose from a few hours before the flight, first-come, first-serve.

With this in mind, your best idea would be to skip the online check-in idea in favor of an E-Ticket machine at the airport. When the machine gives you your seating assignment, instead of clicking "Proceed", select "Change Seat". Premium seats will be open at this time unless you get to the airport far too early, which will allow you to select exit row seats, bulkhead seats, or any location more desirable than 20E.

Create your own luck.
