I came across the first photo's of Air Madagascar's first Boeing 767-300ER (Ex-SAS aircraft) wearing the airline's new livery. Even though it looks almost exactly like the new livery adopted by LAN, I think Air Madagascar's new livery is very nice too. They did a good job on that as well. Does anyone know how Air Madagascar is doing financially? Do they have any expansion plans?

I agree with you on that Henpol747. Air Madagascar's new livery indeed is one of the most beautiful liveries I've seen so far. The dark red combined with the dark green letters and silver logo on the engine and tail is absolutely awesome  Smile/happy/getting dizzy What does that symbol mean on the tail and engines? I assume it's a symbol for Madagascar, but on their website it is explained in french, which I can't translate so well. Their website looks very nice with those colors as well. Have a look at:

WOW! Very nice livery. The dark red and silver looks great especailly on the 767. Has anyone flown with them? The way they have painted on that dark portion on the empennage is quite ountstanding , a bit like how Gulf Air did theirs. I think that looks much better than the white fuselage and coloured fin which is just too common.

The logo of Air Madagascar features a Travellers Palm - a native tree. It has leaves that closely resembles those on a banana tree and is arranged in a fan-shape. A truly elegant tree - and a truly elegant livery that Air Madagascar has adopted too!

A388,

I wrote about Air Mad for Airways magazine. If you're interested, send me a message and I can forward you an electronic copy of that article.

Love the tail. Maybe they could add something else to the front side of the a/c. Otherwise a tastefully done livery.

I've flown the 767 three times from CDG to TNR C-class.
Really good services. Visiting Air Mad couple of times per year and they are doing good so far. They have been re-structured and they will start to replace the old remaining 737-200's for -300's soon.
The second 767 (5R-MFG) was leased for the operation TNR-BKK and TNR-MBA-MXP. Keep up the good work Air Mad!!!
Cheers Mike

Nice artist impression AirOrange, who developed Air Madagascar's new livery by the way? It looks like Landor's work. Anyway, whoever developed their new livery did a very good job!!! Even though it looks very similar to LAN's new livery, it still is unique and very nice. Keep it up  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Now that I know what the symbol means, I also know that palm tree. Where I come from (the Caribbean) we also have that type of palm tree. Nice tree to use on an airline. Air Caraïbes also has the same palm tree on their aircraft tail. I like their livery too, very nice one  Wink/being sarcastic

Hi A388. Thanks for sharing those great Air Cariabes Shot. Very tropical looking and stunning in the natural light. Is Air Cariabes based in Miami?
Sure is a terrific design to put on an aircraft's back.  Smile

Nice livery, though. The shade of red is an unusual, yet attractive choice. Thanks for posting. Also, thanks to the photographers for those cool uploads.

What a nice coincidence...I've just come back after an evening visit in MXP and I saw right this plane at the gate, getting ready for its flight back to Antananarivo, Madagascar! Nice livery with that shade of red giving a touch of some elegance too.

I agree with all of you, Air Madagascar's new livery is very nice indeed. C130HERCULES, Air Caraïbes is based in Guadeloupe and is the national airline of the former French colonies in the Caribbean. Their livery is very attractive too. They operate a fleet of A330-200's, ERJ145's, ATR72/42's as well as the Dornier Do-228. Air Caraïbes also has two ERJ170's on order/lease IIRC.

Very LAN indeed...look how gorgeous:

But this one of Air Madagascar is an enhanced version. IMO LA need more red! Congratulations! (you could be more original though...)
